The hands are always there to flog when disciplining a student, if it is really necessary. However, its such a shame that Nigerians are still practicing barbaric ways of disciplining students.
Mrs Funke Fashina, Secretary to the principal of Bishop Phillips Academy in Ibadan, Oyo State is presently in deep mess for slapping a 14 year old SS2 student on the 29th of January, 2015, which left the student blind in one eye.
Iyanuoluwa Dahusi, the victim was with company of her two friends when the unfortunate incident happened. According to her friends, they were in an unused room when they spotted their teacher and wanted to greet her, on getting out, they met the principal's secretary who asked what they were doing in the empty room, before they could explain, she slapped them one after the other and unfortunately Iyanuoluwa was left blind in an eye.
Such avoidable unfortunate incident.
