His Royal Majesty, Ooni of Ife, King Dr Adeyeye
Ogunwusi and his wife, Olori Wuraola-Zynab Ogunwusi arrived Ghana on
Thursday, july 21st for their official visit to President
John Mahama,
to deliver remarks to the Ghanaian Parliament alongside Ghanaian evangelist Dr Kingsley Fletcher, the Suapolor of the
SE Kingdom.
In the Ooni’s work for unity amongst African nations and
quest to return Africa to global prominence, His Royal Majesty says:
“Africa is the center of the world, we need unity, we need to extend our hands to our brothers and sisters for us to move forward and make headway as a continent.”
T here are over 4 million
Yoruba people living in Ghana, most of whom are from Nigeria. According to
historians, the first group of Yorubas arrived in the Gold Coast around 1813
and initially settled in such places as Accra, Kumasi and Sekondi before moving
to the northern part of the Gold Coast, especially Tamale, Wa, Lawra and
Nandom.
Good move Ooni! Thankfully Royals are no longer spotted :)
