pesticide poisoning is likely the cause of the mysterious deaths of over 20 people in Ondo State earlier this week.
The victims began showing symptoms early last week in what was referred as a “mysterious disease” by Ondo State Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade. The strange disease prompted fears of a new infectious disease outbreak in the country.

The victims, whose symptoms included headache, weight loss, blurred vision and loss of consciousness, died within a day of falling ill in the town of Ode-Irele, in Ondo State.
The tests were carried out at by World health Organisation (WHO) at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital shows that the disease is neither a viral or bacteria infection. The people of the community has gone spiritual. They are current appeasing the gods of the land with diverse sacrifices.
