The Federal Government of Nigeria have directed the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria to begin evacuation of Nigerians from South Africa from Monday April 20th following the ongoing inhuman xenophobic attacks.
Xenophobia in South Africa dates back to 1994 and their main targets are citizens of other African countries. In May 2008, a series of xenophobic attack left 62 dead. In this current attack, at least five people have been killed, many injured and hundred forced to flee their homes.
