There were speculations earlier today, that Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo n'oba n'Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Eriediauwa has pass on. The false report claimed that the Oba died 2 weeks ago. The Benin traditional council have dismissed the rumuor.
The traditional council representative said that it was mere speculations and that the 92 year old monarch who had ruled Benin Kingdom for 36 years is alive and fine. He said those speculations were triggered by the fact that the Oba has not been coming out, and didn't personally receive Pres. Goodluck Jonathan lastweek.
The council rep urged that the media should always try and get information from authentic sources. Long live the King!
