Nollywood Actor John Okafor popularly known as Mr Ibu opines that those of his colleagues campaigning for politicians in the forthcoming elections are beggars.
He believes that it is as a result of the bad leadership of the Guild. He thinks the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) lack standard leaders. The actor said that corruption has eaten deep into Nollywood and that the N50million donated to the Guild recently by the Akwa Ibom Governor was shared by keep members who claims that they are veterans. In John Okafor words;
"I do not want to join those that bother the government. I don't want to be seen as a begger because I want a political appointment. I still want people to respect me, by letting my work to speak for me. I will only go to the government house when invited by the Governor himself, not to go and beg for favour all in the name of AGN".
