INEC Postpones Edo Gubernatorial Elections by 2 Weeks

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has postponed Edo Gubernatorial election by two weeks. The spokesman to the INEC Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, confirmed the postponement.

This decision comes hours after the electoral body had insisted it was still going ahead with the Saturday September 10th scheduled election date  despite advise from the police and the DSS that the election should be postponed due to some security threats.

The election will now hold in two weeks.
