The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan had an interview with Al jazeera in Lagos. In the question and answer series, the president said if he lost the presidential elections on March 28th, he would return to his village in Bayelsa state. In his words:
"If by default somebody wins the election, I will go back to my village. The country is not my father's estate, (but) I'll nor lose the election".He also denied ever planning to sack the INEC Chairman and insisted no President or Governor can take drastic decisions especially with a sensitive position like that of INEC which can be questioned within and outside the country.
