Three bombs went off this afternoon
in Rivers State around the venue of the APC rally ground. Hundreds of APC
supporters had gathered at the Okrika National Secondary school for the rally
waiting for the APC leaders when the explosion explosion occurred.
Channels reports that there were
sporadic shootings after the bomb went off. The station were actually billed to
beam the rally live.
The blast led to a stampede at the
venue. The explosion has caused an abrupt end to the proposed rally, although
some people think the rally will hold as planned.
Okrika is the home of Nigeria's First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan.
